A clay bar drawn across a lubricated dark panel, lifting bonded contamination
Deep Clean Package

Shampoo will not remove any of it.

Tar, iron fallout and bonded contamination need chemistry and a clay bar, not a wash mitt. Eighteen stages inside and out, finished with a 6 months sealant.

A car that has not been detailed for a year or two is not just dirty. It has tar in the lower panels, iron particles embedded in the clear coat from brake and rail dust, and bonded contamination that a wash mitt slides straight over. None of that comes off with shampoo.

The Deep Clean is the reset. Two pre-wash stages, chemical decontamination, a full clay bar, a machine glaze and a 6 months sealant on the outside; a full strip-back of plastics, leather, fabrics and glass on the inside. It is what a car needs before it goes to sale, before a season, or before you start maintaining it properly.

Exterior

Twelve stages outside.

Ordered so that every stage removes what the next one would otherwise drag across the paint. That sequence is the difference between a deep clean and an expensive wash.

  1. 01

    Citrus pre-wash

Breaks down traffic film and organic contamination before anything mechanical touches the paint.

  2. 02

    Snow foam pre-wash

A second chemical stage, left to dwell. Between the two, most of what would scratch the car is already on the floor.

  3. 03

    Wheels, barrels and arches

Faces, inner barrels and arches deep cleaned with dedicated wheel products rather than the shampoo used on the body.

  4. 04

    Two-bucket contact wash

Wash bucket, rinse bucket, grit guards in both. The mitt is rinsed before it goes back into the shampoo.

  5. 05

    Door jambs and fuel cap

Shuts, sills and the fuel filler cleaned and dried — the areas a valet skips and an owner notices.

  6. 06

    Liquid decontamination

Tar and glue remover, then an iron remover for embedded brake and rail dust. Chemical first, so the clay has less to drag.

  7. 07

    Full clay bar

Every panel clayed. This lifts the bonded contamination the chemicals left behind, so the paint feels smooth rather than gritty.

  8. 08

    Towel dried and blown dry

Microfibre dried, then hot air blown through shuts, mirrors and badges. Trapped water is what runs down a clean panel an hour later.

  9. 09

    Machine glaze

A machine-applied glaze that restores depth and clarity. It is a finishing stage, not a cutting stage — see the FAQ on what it does and does not remove.

  10. 10

    Paint sealant

Premium paint sealant applied over the glaze. Rated at 6 months of protection.

  11. 11

    Exhaust tips

Degreased and polished. Carbon build-up comes off with abrasive work, not with shampoo.

  12. 12

    Tyres and arches dressed

Dressing applied and levelled to a satin finish rather than left wet, so it stays on the rubber.

Interior

Six stages inside, and most of it by hand.

The interior is where the hours go. There is no machine that cleans a vent, a seat seam or a switch surround, and those are the parts you look at every day.

  1. 01

    Full vacuum

Carpets, mats, fabrics, seat rails and under the seats — where the majority of what falls into a car ends up.

  2. 02

    Plastics deep cleaned

Surfaces scrubbed rather than wiped. Wiping moves the oils and skin contact residue around; scrubbing lifts them out of the grain.

  3. 03

    Leather and steering wheel

Cleaned with a dedicated leather product. The wheel and the driver's bolster wear first, because they take the most contact.

  4. 04

    Fabrics and carpets

Scrubbed and wet vacuumed, so the dirt leaves the car rather than being pushed further into the pile.

  5. 05

    Nooks and crannies

Vents, seams, switch surrounds, cupholders and trim gaps done by hand. This is where most of the time goes.

  6. 06

    Glass inside and out

Both sides of every window. Interior glass films over from plastics off-gassing, and that film is what scatters oncoming headlights.

Who it is for

The car that has been let go a bit.

Almost every car we deep clean falls into one of four situations. If yours does not, tell us what it is and we will say honestly whether this is the right package.

A year or more

Not detailed for a long time. Contamination has bonded and needs chemical and clay work to come off.

Going to sale

Pre-sale or part exchange. A clean engine bay and clean shuts read as a car that has been cared for.

Starting fresh

The right starting point before moving onto a from £60 maintenance schedule.

Six months cover

Finished with a 6 months paint sealant rather than left bare.

FAQ

Questions we get about the deep clean.

Maintenance is a wash — 90–150 minutes, keeping a car that is already in good order in good order. The Deep Clean adds the decontamination stages: tar and iron removal, a full clay bar, a machine glaze and a 6 months sealant. It takes 4–7 hours because most of that work is done by hand, panel by panel.

No, and this is worth being clear about. The machine glaze restores depth and clarity, and it will make light marks far less visible — but it fills and refines rather than cuts. Removing defects permanently is paint correction, which starts with the Single Stage Enhancement. If the marks bother you in direct sunlight, correction is the honest answer rather than a glaze.

from £100, depending on the size of the vehicle and the condition it arrives in. A four-seat hatchback that is washed regularly and a seven-seater that has carried dogs for three years are not the same job. We confirm the figure before any work starts.

The sealant is rated at 6 months. Washing it correctly is what gets it there — a maintenance detail every few weeks will see the sealant through its full life, and an automatic wash will not.

It is the single most cost-effective thing you can do to a car before it goes to sale or part exchange. Buyers read a clean engine bay, clean shuts and defect-free glass as evidence the car has been looked after mechanically as well. The Platinum Executive Detail goes further again if the car warrants it.

Want the engine bay, glass coating and leather protection as well? The Platinum Executive Detail is this package plus five further stages.

If it is the marks in the paint that bother you rather than the dirt, a glaze is the wrong answer — read what correction actually removes before booking anything.
